A Girl and Her Horses

Owner Ann Johnson is a life-time horsewoman trainer-instructor / teacher for over 25 years, specializing in cow bred APHA horses. Starting her breeding program with her stallion "Wanted Reward" in 1993 ultimately earning 2 APHA World Champion Cow Horse titles.

She has respect for the horse, patience and a sense of humor and love for what she does. Her focus is on helping the individual that has a love for horses to learn the basic confidence building between horse and rider, to progress to a specialty discipline. By teaching from the ground up as an instructor, Ann has been active in the Rogue Valley boarding, breeding and showing. Her passion for horses and showing have brought her together with many prominent trainers and like-minded horse enthusiasts. She opened her boarding & training facility to the public in 2005, and is one of a few of the longest running boarding facilities in the valley.

Sale Horses

Reese Creek Ranch offers horses for sale here www.reesecreekranch.com/horses/. We offer both client horses and our own prodigy from our stallion, Playboy's Reward. Each year we have a new foal crop we offer for sale as yearlings or older.

Breeding Horses

We started our breeding program with our stallion Wanted Reward in 1994. He had proved himself in the show pen, finished his futurities and returned home to stand as a stallion. He has sired over 150 APHA babies, several of which have graced magazine covers and two APHA cow horse World Champion titles with several also placing in the top ten. The first one “Illegal Reward” came by crossing our pleasure bred mares. Not only did we get Top 10 world Champions, but soon learned these foals were great all around horses winning in the show pen. Wanted Reward was one of the first stallion’s in Southern Oregon With Dr. Tom Timmons to be collected and shipped in the early days when AI was just beginning.

The second world Champion was Playboy’s Reward. He is owned by Ann Johnson and he stands at Reese Creek Ranch. Playboys Reward has been successful in the showpen in everything from winning Reserve World Champion Working Cow Horse to year end Champion English Open! B Dawg, as he is known around the barn, has over 4,500 in earnings and has been in the top 6 places at the 2009 and 2010 APHA world show and has completed his ROM in both reining and working cow horse. He was also the pinto horse of the year and sideshow memorial all around versatility award winner in both 2017 and 2018. On top of his impressive resume, he offers beautiful color, correct conformation, and passes on his kind and trainable personality to his foals. Playboys Reward is a stunning rare Grulla color and is homozygous for the Tobiano gene! So even if you breed him to a solid mare, you are guaranteed color!
